About John

John Bradford Glaser was a firefighter with the Shawnee Fire Department who died May 22, 2010, in the line of duty while attempting a rescue in a structure fire.

He was a 1995 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School and earned his BA degree in 2000 from the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and began his career as a firefighter with the Shawnee, Kansas Fire Department in 2004. John was on the Swift Water Rescue Team and the HazMat Team. He is survived by his wife Amber and two children, Brecken Joseph Glaser and Emma Grace Glaser.

John Glaser Memorial Fund - John Glaser is survived by his wife, Amber, a son, Brecken Joseph, and a daughter, Emma Grace, and a memorial fund has been set up for the Glaser family. A portion of the proceeds from the event, together with all donations received, will go to the John Glaser Memorial Fund at Bank of America 175 Claireborne Road, Olathe, KS 66062.
